Now when I try to install the latest NVidiaĭriver (dated ) the found hardware reloads (I believe) the driver that was installed with the update and I have a black screen again. I am not sure if I have a driver problem or a hardware problem but since the card was running fine the evening of the update I believe it to be a driver incompatibility issue. Putting my ASUS STRIX GTX980 card back in it came up under the Microsoft driver with lower resolution until the found new hardware loaded and activated the driverįor it then back to same problem. I installed an older graphics card and it worked fine. At random intervals it flashes on for a second. Now it will boot but just after the Windows 10 splash screen it goes black. Woke that night to find computer still on. Shutdown and restarted, but no change.I allowed the windows update on 12-5-2017 on shutdown. installed without issue, said driver installed fine with tick to confirm, but there is still a Code 43 error on Devices manager and when selecting Radeon Settings no driver installed (see below).ġ3. When 18.5.1 starts up, Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is re-installed (assume it scans hardware and the MBDA is part of windows and not downloaded from the internet?)ġ2. Microsoft Basic Display Adapter was still showing in Devices manager (Uninstalled on second attempt)ĩ. Manually deleted "AMD" folders on C Drive (second time)Ĩ. Selected Clean and Shutdown first time and Clean and restart second timeħ.

Started DDU and selected GPU Drivers (perhaps I did something wrong here?)Ħ. Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Start-up settings>Restartĥ. Went into safe mode (Shift+Restart from start menu)Ģ. I bought a Sapphire Nitro+ RX470 Radeon 8GB for my son's PC - Christmas upgrade on the existing HD6870 XFX Black Edition. I have looked at all forums and followed loads of advice, requiring removal of the card, un-installing/re-installing, certificates etc etc, but nothing has resolved my issue.
